U.S. grape cold-storage inventories continued to trend downward through late November, with total holdings at 3,527,222 packages on 30 November 2025, well below the 8,555,326 packages reported on 15 November 2025 and also under the 4,929,886 packages recorded a year earlier. The update comes from the USDA's Western Fruit Report for 4 December 2025.
The USDA figures show reduced availability across nearly all major table-grape varieties, marking a continuation of the seasonal drawdown as stored fruit moves through domestic and export markets.
White seedless varieties
Autumn King holdings fell sharply to 779,912 packages, down from 2,034,896 packages mid-month and below 738,260 packages last year. Great Green showed 20,337 packages, compared with 140,149 packages two weeks earlier. The Other White group recorded 222,832 packages, nearly one-quarter of the 976,797 packages reported on 15 November 2025.
Red seedless varieties
Allison stocks reached 1,371,865 packages, narrowing from 2,587,192 packages mid-month but still below 2,825,598 in 2024. Scarlet Royal inventories totalled 241,947 packages, down from 418,811 packages two weeks earlier. Other Red varieties reported 663,511 packages, compared with 1,455,917 packages in mid-November and 469,072 packages last season.
Black varieties
Autumn Royal holdings were listed at 126,056 packages, showing a heavy drawdown from 289,008 packages earlier in the month. Other Black reached 21,875 packages, far lower than the 85,500 packages mid-month and the 92,841 packages recorded last year.
Specialty varieties
Red Globe stood at 6,600 packages, with earlier-season inventories substantially higher at 70,675 packages. Timco inventories were reported at 49,210 packages, down from 138,921 packages two weeks prior. Sweet Globe/Sorbet had 502 packages, a steep decline from 18,052 packages in mid-November.
Seasonal positioning
The USDA notes that reported holdings come from cooperating California grape shippers and cold-storage facilities. Most varieties show accelerated movement out of storage, consistent with the late-season transition ahead of winter holidays and the end of the domestic storage window.
With total inventories at 3.5 million packages, the current volume is approximately 28% lower than the same date in 2024 and close to 5% below 2023 levels, indicating tighter late-season supply conditions.
