CGF appoints Max Koeune as new co-chair

The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), a CEO-led organisation representing manufacturers and retailers worldwide, has appointed Max Koeune, President and CEO of McCain Foods, as its new Co-Chair for a two-year term. Koeune will serve alongside Ken Murphy, Group CEO of Tesco plc.

The CGF brings together the leaders of more than 400 member companies across 70 countries, including Ahold Delhaize, Carrefour, Mondelēz International, Nestlé, and Unilever. The organisation focuses on developing collaborative approaches to a range of industry issues.

McCain Foods participates in several CGF Coalitions of Action, including the Climate Transition, Food Waste, and Plastic Waste groups. Koeune has also been a Co-Sponsor of the Food Waste Coalition for the past five years.

Koeune said: "At McCain, we believe food plays an important role in people's lives, with the power to bring individuals, families, and communities together. It is an honour to join Ken as Co-Chair of The Consumer Goods Forum. I look forward to collaborating with leaders across the CGF's global network to champion innovation and create positive impact at scale."

His appointment follows the departure of Ramon Laguarta, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, who has stepped down from the Co-Chair role to focus on other priorities. PepsiCo will remain a member of the CGF.

Wai-Chan Chan, Managing Director of the CGF, noted that McCain Foods contributes extensive sector experience and said Koeune's involvement will help guide the organisation's direction over the next term.
