Cranberry harvest is underway across major producing regions in the United States, with fresh fruit available from October through December and the remainder of the crop directed to processing for year-round use. Production is measured in barrels, with one barrel equal to 100 pounds.

For 2025, the U.S. cranberry crop is forecast at 8.13 million barrels, a 9 per cent decrease from 2024 but close to the 5-year average of 7.95 million barrels. Wisconsin remains the largest producing State, typically accounting for about 60 per cent of national output. Its 2025 harvest is forecast at 5.3 million barrels, 3 per cent lower than 2024 but 4 per cent above the average of the previous three years.
Massachusetts, which usually contributes about one quarter of U.S. production, is forecast at 1.75 million barrels. This represents a 22 per cent decline from 2024 and sits 19 per cent below the average of the last three years, with dry conditions affecting yields. Production declines are also expected in Oregon and New Jersey, down 10 per cent and 12 per cent, respectively, year-on-year.
