Tajik dried fruit producers receive FSSC 22000 certification

Tajik companies Mevai Kand, Kand K, and Zardolui Isfara have received the internationally recognized FSSC 22000 certification, confirming that their dried fruits meet strict global standards for safety, quality, and traceability, according to the International Trade Centre (ITC).

Support from Swiss Cooperation and ITC enabled these producers to expand to international markets. The Sogd region, known for its high-quality apricots, now has the potential to supply products globally with increased trust.

The certification helps access premium markets by ensuring compliance with hygiene, traceability, and risk management standards.

Saidmumin Kamolov, ITC National Manager, highlighted that the certification demonstrates Tajik producers' ability to meet international requirements. Mevai Kand's director, Gulomjon Ismoilov, noted it validates the team's work and strengthens prospects for export growth.

Sogd accounts for nearly 10% of global apricot production, making it central to Tajikistan's dried fruit industry. The FSSC 22000 certification provides a foundation for expanding international partnerships and promoting the "Made in Tajikistan" brand.
