US: Brookshire Grocery to buy 2 Oklahoma supermarkets
Brookshire Grocery Co. has agreed to acquire two Uptown Grocery stores in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, the Texas-based supermarket operator announced. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The locations, which are in The Village and Edmond, Oklahoma, will become Fresh by Reasor's stores following a conversion process set to begin on October 22.

Finland: S Group's sales in January-September grew from the previous year
S Group reported: "In January-September, the retail sales before taxes of S Group's supermarket trade totalled EUR 8,140.6mln. Compared with the corresponding period in the previous year, sales grew by 2.7%. Favourable weather conditions boosted the grocery trade sales during the third quarter. In particular, the heatwave in July increased the demand for the summer season's products such as drinks, ice cream and barbecue products. Sales were also boosted by the return to regular everyday life after the holiday season and the start of the autumn season. For example, the sales of fruit and vegetables were strong".

UK: Morrisons launches 'Morrisons Now' for one-hour grocery delivery
