Hort Innovation has been named a winner of the Breakthrough Culture Awards 2025, a national recognition celebrating organisations that are redefining what it means to be "People First" in the workplace.
The award, presented by Hyer, highlights companies that go beyond surface-level culture initiatives to build environments where employees genuinely thrive. Hort Innovation was selected from thousands of organisations and over 20,000 employee interviews conducted across Australia.
Factors contributing to Hort Innovation's recognition include a six-month values refresh shaped by extensive team consultation, a sharp rise in employee engagement scores, particularly in measuring 'feedback actioned', and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through the launch of seven DE&I working groups. These efforts, alongside future-focused culture strategies such as leadership development and capability-building initiatives, have helped create a workplace where employees are empowered to grow and thrive.
Mona Maidment, General Manager of People and Culture at Hort Innovation, reflected on the win: "This award is a testament to the incredible people who make Hort Innovation a great place to work. We're honoured to be recognised and remain committed to evolving our culture in meaningful ways that support our people and the horticulture sector."
