Monthly update on citrus imports Season 2024/25:

EU orange and grapefruit imports decline y.o.y

As of June 2025, EU orange imports for the 2024–2025 season totaled 549,000 tons, below the 636 tons recorded in 2023–2024. South Africa supplied 9,973 tons, Egypt 37,785 tons, and Morocco 3,127 tons. Other suppliers included Türkiye (9 tons), Argentina (96 tons), and Zimbabwe (9,850 tons). Monthly imports in June were 51,413 tons, and the average price was €111/100kg.

Small citrus imports into the EU reached 378,000 tons by June 2025, up from 319,000 tons the previous year. South Africa led with 21,130 tons, followed by Peru (2118 tons). Monthly imports in June were 23,642 tons, with an average price of €94/100kg.

Lemon imports totaled 212,000 tons by June 2025, compared to 178,000 tons in 2023–2024. Key suppliers were Türkiye (135 tons), South Africa (47,477 tons), and Argentina (18,203 tons). Imports in June were 69,081 tons, and the average price was €122/100kg.

EU grapefruit imports stood at 158,000 tons by June 2025, below last season's 178,000 tons. South Africa supplied 23,726 tons, China 29 tons, and Türkiye 26 tons. June imports reached 24,963 tons.
