North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has reported a rise in fruit and vegetable exports through its land ports. Manzhouli, the region's premier land port, recorded exports amounting to 153,000 tonnes, valued at approximately 1.14 billion yuan over the first seven months of the year, reflecting a growth of 70.1 percent in volume and 87 percent in value compared to the same period last year. Zhang Xiao, of Manzhouli Heng'e Trading Company Co., Ltd., attributed this growth to an expansion in the variety of products and export methods.
Erenhot Port, situated near the Mongolian capital and serving as the principal conduit for Mongolia's fruit and vegetable imports, exported 89,000 tonnes worth 320 million yuan during the same timeframe, marking a 35.5 percent increase in volume and a significant rise in value. The establishment of a "green channel" for agricultural products in 2018 has facilitated a boost in exports from Erenhot to Mongolia.
