On August 5th, an event marked by the presence of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and an interministerial delegation from Brazil, witnessed the signing of 17 agreements, enhancing the Chile-Brazil bilateral agenda. Among these, a notable Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technical cooperation in agriculture was signed between Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, MAPA, and Chile's Ministry of Agriculture, Minagri. This MOU aims to foster the development of agricultural systems through collaborative efforts in areas of mutual interest, highlighting Brazil's Climate Risk Farming Zoning (ZARC) and the ABC+ plan (Low Carbon Agriculture).
President Lula emphasized the importance of South American integration and the need for improved relations between Chile and Brazil, marking a new era in their relationship. Minister Carlos Fávaro of MAPA underscored the MOU's potential to open new prospects for Brazil's agricultural sector, linking increased foreign trade activities to more domestic jobs and income.
