Concerns exist for the 2023-24 season, with projections indicating a potential decrease in production by 10% to 15%.
Efforts are underway to develop new mango varieties, with BARI Aam-3 and BARI Aam-4 gaining international attention. The importance of presenting mangoes attractively and ensuring sterility for export purposes has been emphasized, alongside the significant export opportunity presented by the Bangladeshi diaspora. The adoption of GAP is seen as essential for leveraging the global appeal of Bangladeshi mangoes, known for their unique color and taste.
