From innovative packaging to new varieties of fruit

Abacates do Brasil to showcase a series of innovations for fruit growing

At Fruit Attraction, the Brazilian Association of Avocado Producers (Abacates do Brasil) under the leadership of Ronaldo Morini Ferreira, is set to explore new opportunities for the Brazilian fruit industry. Brazil, recognized for its unparalleled agricultural capabilities, benefits from diverse environmental conditions conducive to fruit cultivation. Abacates do Brasil, alongside the Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruit and Derivatives (Abrafrutas), plays a vital role in this context, especially at a time when the fruit industry is witnessing substantial growth worldwide.

The association's involvement in major international fairs has been instrumental in facilitating exports, thereby enhancing both international and local markets. With the goal of broadening its scope, Abacates do Brasil is working closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and Abrafrutas to penetrate new markets such as Chile, India, China, and the US within the next two years. Ronaldo Ferreira highlights that despite a projected production decrease in 2024, the potential for Brazilian avocado production remains significant, with innovations in packaging and new fruit varieties expected to be showcased at Fruit Attraction.

Operating across various Brazilian states, Abacates do Brasil aims not only to expand its domestic presence, but also to venture into new international markets through its participation in seminars and congresses, thereby enhancing the value and strength of the Brazilian fruit industry.
