Restu Hajat Keluarga, is a lime grower based in Gresik, East Java in Indonesia, the limes are grown in several villages, namely Glatik, Kebunagungand Bolo as well as other villages around Ujungpangkah sub-district.
"As well as growing our own limes we also have other growers who supply us. We supply between 50-80 tonnes per month and could supply more. There is year-round production in Indonesia," explains, Hendro Firmanto from the company.
The lime is very popular in Indonesia and is used in many different ways, consumers see it as it a way to increase immunity against disease and infections. It is also widely used in the food and drink industries for flavouring and juice. Limes are also used in antibacterial agents and to treat respiratory disorders in the form of an inhaler or vaporizer.
"At the moment we supply the domestic market in Indonesia, but we are also looking further afield to markets such as Europe, US, Middle East and China. We could supply an estimated 50 tonnes per month for export."
