SEAPA is actively tracking pricing trends of key commodities in Minas Gerais

In Minas Gerais, the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (SEAPA), in collaboration with Emater-MG, Epamig, and IMA, is actively tracking the pricing trends of key commodities traded at CeasaMinas in Contagem. This initiative aims to assess the state's food supply chain and gauge the market impact of fluctuating prices.

The analysis, which utilized average price data from Ceasa-MG in Greater BH between March 11 and March 22, 2024, focused on the volume and pricing of ten top-selling fruits: pineapple, banana, green coconut, orange, lemon, apple, mango, papaya, watermelon, and grape. This comprehensive review is part of SEAPA's broader strategy to ensure market stability and provide insights into potential supply chain adjustments.

Here are some of the main highlights:

  • The price of large pearl pineapple showed a significant drop of 12.5% in the period, going from R$80.00 to R$70.00 per dozen.
