Wholesale lemon prices see a February surge in India

According to the Agmarknet portal by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, February witnessed a notable increase in the wholesale prices of lemon across benchmark markets. Andhra Pradesh, a leading lemon producer, experienced a surge to Rs 5,993 per 100 kgs, marking an increase of Rs 2,570. Himachal Pradesh saw an even more significant rise, with prices jumping by Rs 4,050 per 100 kgs to Rs 9,598. In Jammu and Kashmir, the increase was Rs 3,028 per 100 kgs, reaching Rs 7,270.

Other key producing regions like Chandigarh, Gujarat, and Tripura also reported hikes in the range of Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000. Consequently, the average wholesale price of lemon across these states and union territories rose by Rs 1,260.97 per 100 kgs. Despite the overall upward trend, Uttarakhand and Nagaland witnessed declines in wholesale prices, with reductions of Rs 212 and Rs 5 per 100 kgs, respectively.
