Russian imports from China: phytosanitary control in Zabaykalsky Krai

From January 1 to February 19, 2024, the territorial office of Rosselkhoznadzor in Zabaykalsky Krai monitored the import of 35,800 tons of imported quarantined products from China. The goods entered the region through railway and international road checkpoints.

Fresh fruits accounted for the majority of the imported goods, totalling 21,800 tons, which represents 61% of the quarantined products imported. Meanwhile, vegetables amounted to 13,300 tons, constituting 37% of the total.

Specialists detected four types of quarantine pests in nine instances during the phytosanitary control of the imported produce. These included the tomato brown rugose fruit virus, western flower thrips, mulberry scale, and California red scale. Quarantine phytosanitary measures have been taken against 10.8 tons of infected imported quarantined products.
