Exploring new avenues for agricultural exports, Kyrgyzstan is eyeing the markets of Qatar, China, and Pakistan for its strawberries and raspberries. Bakyt Torobaev, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, during a press conference on February 15, unveiled this plan.
Torobaev revealed insights from his recent meeting with the Berry Growers Association, where concerns were raised regarding the increasing strawberry and raspberry production annually without corresponding market expansion.
Furthermore, Torobaev highlighted the government's support in facilitating these exports. The Ministry has identified 60 agricultural products, including strawberries and raspberries, for which assistance will be provided to farmers in export operations.
In addition to exploring new export opportunities, Torobaev reiterated the government's commitment to bolstering domestic production across various sectors, thereby reducing dependency on imports.
