In a pivotal move for the agricultural domain, FIL Group of Industries has partnered with a French entity to bring elite high-density apple varieties to the farmers of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. This collaboration, named FILAVAL NURSERIES Pvt. Ltd., merges the expertise of FIL Industries Private Limited with French stalwarts DALIVAL and FIATS, and was announced at a Kisan Mela in Shopian district.
DALIVAL, a leader in Europe for high-density planting materials, and FIATS, a specialist in post-harvest management, aim to revolutionize apple cultivation in the region.
Technical Field Manager, Parvaiz Ahmad Rather, shared insights on the venture’s objectives to import quality rootstock from France for a stool bed nursery in Jammu and Kashmir. He detailed plans for developing various apple varieties through grafting and budding, setting up a mother tree orchard, and establishing demonstration orchards. Currently, around 126,000 planting materials are under quarantine, with a release scheduled for November, pending regulatory approval. Parvaiz emphasized the importance of rootstock verification by farmers for authenticity and assured rigorous R&D behind their varieties. Additionally, FIL Industries announced a partnership with Kimitech, a Spanish firm specializing in bio-stimulants and pesticides, unveiling seven new agricultural products.
