Dillen Langenberg, Tovano

"Huge demand for Californian in-shell walnuts for Christmas"

The second Californian Diamond in-shell walnuts shipment has arrived at Tovano in the Netherlands. "The demand for these boxes grows annually and only increases towards Christmas," says Dillen Langenberg.

Tovano gets these inshell walnuts in their familiar 25 kg boxes. "The Diamond stamp is often considered a seal of quality. We supply plenty of these walnuts to Dutch exporters. But we're almost out. They're priced the lowest in recent years, which also boosts sales."

With the festive season approaching, it is hectic at this Dutch dried fruit and nut wholesaler again. "We have the first Israeli Medjoul dates back in, too. Ramadan falls early next year, so we want to have enough stock. The situation in Israel means prices are fairly high, but still demand is good," Dillen concludes. New this year, in addition to the one and five-kilo packs, Tovano also offers these dates in 500 g packaging.
