"An alliance of choice in the fresh fruit and vegetable grading, sorting, and packaging sector"

Maf Roda acquires Caustier

Montalban-based family group Maf Roda, specialists in customized, turnkey solutions for automatic grading, sorting, and packaging of fresh fruit and vegetables, has signed an agreement to acquire Perpignan-based Caustier, a century-old company specializing in the design of grading and packaging machines for fresh fruit and vegetables.

On October 23, the Maf Roda group completed its takeover of the century-old Perpignan-based company Caustier, a key player in the arboricultural sector for summer fruit. This merger of two companies specialized in engineering and in designing and manufacturing grading, sorting, and automatic packaging solutions for the fresh fruit and vegetable sector forms a true alliance of choice and a clear synergy for the benefit of players in the packaging market. As part of this agreement, the Maf Roda Group will bring to Caustier all its know-how in electronic quality sorting and expertise in automatic and robotized packaging.

With over 1,200 employees in total and 6 production sites worldwide in France, Spain, USA, Australia, Mexico, and China, as well as sales and after-sales facilities in Italy, South Africa, and New Zealand, the Maf Roda Group's acquisition of Caustier strengthens its presence and foothold in the heart of the Perpignan region, ensuring greater proximity to its existing customer base in Catalonia and north-eastern Spain.

The Maf Roda group has acquired the ZAC Belair facility in Perpignan, where Caustier has been based since November 2012. This 7,000 m² industrial space - including 3,300 m² of buildings and offices - is a real asset in its local development. It also enhances the industrial resources in which the Maf Roda group has recently invested at its Montalban site, with almost 16,000 m² of additional surface area for its manufacturing activity.

"The two strong, parallel histories of these family-run businesses - Caustier 100 years and the Maf Roda group 60 years - offer an identical foundation and a shared philosophy that bring them even closer together, both driven by the same values of innovation, excellence, and commitment. The union of the two brands promises to be full of exciting new developments and innovative projects to better meet the needs of the fresh produce packer market".
