Some 670 hectares of "Qishan sweet potato" were harvested last month in Qishan township, an agriculture hub in Shandong province. This proves the success of the local government making a large investment in an industrial upgrade to boost the local economy.
According to the Qishan government, the township has invested more than 4 million yuan ($557,783) to build the second-phase virus-free seedling breeding base and 5 million yuan to introduce deep processing production lines. Further efforts were also made to promote the brand of "Qishan sweet potato" and boost sales.
