North Bay Produce is growing its strawberry production. This increase strengthens its commitment to developing a 52-week program for strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries and a year-round supply of these berries offers consumers a one-stop-shop for their berry needs.
This berry program includes both conventional and organic products, all under the North Bay label. “With the addition of a more robust strawberry program, North Bay now brings more value to our retail partners and consumers through continuous, uninterrupted, high-quality supplies and experiences,” said Ryan Lockman, vice president of sales and procurement at North Bay Produce.
Ryan Lockman says this berry program includes both conventional and organic products, all under the North Bay label.
Strawberry production is expected to increase in Mexico and Florida for the 2023/24 growing season. The Mexican season will run approximately October 1st through the beginning of April with Florida starting November 25th and ending in April. North Bay also has strawberries growing in California to support the low season in Mexico and Florida.
Both the Mexican and Florida strawberry projects are in partnership with North Bay Produce members. North Bay is a grower-owned cooperative with over 2,000 farms around the world with a focus on varietal development. Attendees visiting IFPA’s Global Produce & Floral Show in Anaheim, California October 19-21 are invited to visit the company at booth 2861.
