Egypt signs MoU with China to increase mango exports

According to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, its officials have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China to open this huge market to Egyptian mangoes. The MoU was signed on Saturday by Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El-Sayed El-Quseir and China's Deputy Minister of Customs Wang Lingjun.

El-Quseir hailed the MoU as a milestone: "The Egyptian agricultural sector has enjoyed an unprecedented boom during the past nine years.” The Minister claimed that many countries worldwide are rushing to order Egyptian mangoes due to their high quality.

Egypt is the world's tenth largest mango exporter, exporting to a range of European markets, as well as Arab countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon.
