Zespri's total investment in "Horizon programme" ERP rollout reached $122.8 million at 31 March

Kiwifruit giant Zespri is predicting ongoing investment in its extensive SAP-based transformation over the next three to five years. As of 31 March, the co-operative's total investment in its "Horizon programme" ERP rollout had reached $122.8 million after investment of $50.2 million in 2022/23.

When costs were first revealed in August, 2021, the total budget for the project was put at $160 million and it was expected to be completed in 2024. Tranche one of Horizon included the full migration of core finance and financial planning capabilities, and the first phases of investment in global supply and demand planning, sales order and pricing management, and in-market supply-chain and fruit inspection, and quality claims processes.

The second phase of the programme, now under way, will look at grower enablement, quality management and integrated business planning.
