First time exhibitor welcomes organic buyers to its own backyard

68 Produce, LLC will exhibit in booth #901 at the Organic Produce Summit for the first time and could not be more excited to do so.

As year-round grower/shippers, the company looks forward to meeting its customers in person while sharing the many organic wet and dry vegetable items it offers. It serves retail, foodservice, wholesale and processing customers throughout North America from its various regional coolers with cabbage, kale, bunched items, broccoli, celery, beets and more. The company also specializes in creating customized growing programs for customers while also offering a steady and diverse supply of organic and conventional items.

Having the opportunity to host so many organic buyers in its backyard is a great avenue for 68 Produce LLC to not only share what it does but also show customers how. Appreciating the hard work of so many involved in bringing a crop to market builds stronger bonds with customers and helps them become ambassadors for the company’s products to their consumers.

Supply is beginning to get back to normal with more steady supply of a variety of items.

The weather conditions this past winter in its current Oxnard and Salinas growing areas have made this Spring challenging with light and sporadic supply. It is beginning to get back to normal with a more steady supply on a variety of items. Demand for organic products has been good, but there’s room to grow.

With lighter supply and high freight costs, the landed costs of some produce items have been higher than normal and some customers are not able to pass on these higher costs. Additionally, the season in the Salinas area started late this year and the window of time to supply items before local deals start was small. The company anticipates, as the season progresses, that the available supply will become steady, pricing will moderate and demand will improve with greater availability and promotional volume.
