June 12th to 16th, 2023 - Grenoble, France

9th International Symposium on Walnut and Pecan

It is in Grenoble that the 9th International Symposium for Walnut and Pecan will be held. “This event takes place every 4 years, and this year is an exceptional opportunity for professionals of the French nut and pecan sector to organize it in Grenoble,” explains Jean-Marc Goachet, CTIFL's scientific and technical communications manager. The symposium will bring together 26 different nationalities. It is an opportunity for research teams from all over the world to present their latest work and results on the issues and constraints that concern nut growers in general. A unique feature of this international event will be a trade show for manufacturers of agricultural equipment, who will be showcasing their latest machinery over an area of 400 m2. This will certainly delight professionals, who will also be able to discuss the sector's latest innovations directly with the scientists. A full day of technical field visits will also be organized.

Focus on the latest technological advances
Many topics will be discussed, from new plant varieties and rootstocks to fruit quality, new cultivation practices and new pest and disease control methods. The latest technological advances will be presented, such as the use of bacteriophages to combat bacteriosis, or the use of sterile insects to combat the codling moth.

Simultaneous translation in French and Spanish will be provided for the entire program, with daily rates available. Further information on the symposium website: www.francenut2023.com

An exclusive professional event
In parallel with this scientific symposium, a trade show will be held in the same Alpexpo buildings on June 13th, 14th and 15th. It will bring together the sector's key players (machinery, logistics, processing...), enabling professionals to discover the latest technological innovations and exchange ideas with all participants.
