Italian and Uzbek companies are cooperating

Agribusiness and fruit and vegetable enterprises are continuously in seek of new opportunities. In light of this, on 6 June 2023, during the 'Italy-Uzbekistan Business Forum,' the president of the Italian consortium Cermac, Enrico Turoni, signed an important cooperation agreement on the promotion of technologies and know-how in the agricultural and food processing sector with Alisher Shukurov (representing Uzbekistan companies).

The meeting was organized in Rome by ICE, Confindustria, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Uzbek Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.

"Uzbekistan," explained Turoni, "is growing significantly in the fruit and vegetable sector, and exports are increasing especially in high-profit Asian markets with cherries, apricots and nuts. In light of this, our companies are at the forefront of collaborating with Uzbek companies, for high-level technologies solutions, and above all, organized business networks for the entire supply chain."

With this agreement, Cermac, a consortium from Emilia-Romagna that groups producers of technologies and systems for farming from the field to the post-harvest operations, is strengthening its position in central Asia, an important area of agricultural development.

Only a few months ago a similar cooperation agreement was signed with an association of Kyrgyz producers.
