With the assistance of the World Bank Funded Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project of the Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy Ministry from June 1, 2023, Dominican banana and plantain farmers will soon be provided with support based on their cultivated acreages as well as production levels.
Project manager Kervin Stephenson stated that the cultivation of these national priority crops is essential to protect the food security of Dominica and contribute to foreign exchange earnings. He noted that the Ministry had aligned the production of the crops with the ongoing initiative of ‘Eat Local, Live Long’.
