Top Honduran fruit and vegetable exports to the US

In 2022, Honduran fruit and vegetable exports to the United States increased by 30.42% over the previous year, totaling 648,314 tons, according to a report on agricultural export markets.

The fresh fruits and vegetables that Honduras exported to the US the most during 2022 were: banana, Cantaloupe melon, pineapple, honeydew melon, cucumber, okra, pumpkin, eggplant, colored chili peppers, Persian lime, and other varieties of chili.

Banana exports increased by 67.17% in volume during 2022, which responds to the gradual recovery of the agricultural sector after hurricanes Eta and Iota hit the country in November 2020.

Guatemala is the United State's main supplier of bananas, with a 50.54% share. It is followed by Costa Rica (17.07%), Honduras (11.20%), Mexico (7.52%), Ecuador (7.20%), and Colombia (4.96%).

Honduras is the United States' second-largest supplier of melon, pineapple, okra, and eggplant; its third-biggest supplier of pumpkin, cucumber, honeydew melon, colored chili peppers, and fresh chili peppers; and its fourth-biggest supplier of Persian lime, an agricultural product that registered a 40.38% year-on-year increase in volume.
