Landgard is intensifying the already existing cooperation with Energie-Handels-Gesellschaft & Co. This is pointed out by the Hamburg-based energy service provider in a statement. The joint history of Landgard and EHA began in 2019. At that time, the growers' cooperative faced the challenge of an audit to meet the requirements of the Energy Services Act (EDL-G). EHA was commissioned to perform an energy assessment based on DIN EN 16247-1. During load curve analyses and on-site inspections, our experts evaluated the technical systems of several locations with regard to their energy efficiency. Subsequently, optimization measures were developed, and their amortization was checked.
In addition, EHA developed a concept for sub-metering the energy flows on the extensive plant sites because the total electricity consumption measured by the main meter is usually not very meaningful. By using intermediate meters, electricity consumption can be precisely allocated, and "silent consumers" can be identified via time-based analysis. In addition, transformation and distribution losses can be quantified, for which electricity tax is then no longer due.
Cost-effective procurement of green electricity and gas
The successful energy efficiency project prompted Landgard to also commission EHA with the procurement of electricity and gas. Since the beginning of 2022, we have been supplying 109 of the cooperative's properties with green electricity, which corresponds to an expected volume of electricity of approximately 31 GWh per year. At the same time, EHA has started supplying gas to 42 company sites. Here, the amount of energy per year is approximately 45 GWh.
In both cases, Landgard benefits from our risk-averse and long-term energy procurement, which avoids price shocks and enables us to take advantage of favorable market developments.
Metering services "on top"
Now Landgard and EHA have opened another chapter in their cooperation for more sustainability and energy efficiency. The producers' cooperative entrusted us with the metering point operation for electricity. To this end, EHA is installing its own smart meters for integration into a complete metering system with a closed secure data network and its own infrastructure. Landgard will soon receive the daily bundled metering data from around 100 locations. The consumption transparency gained in this way is the prerequisite for rapid energy controlling and electricity cost optimization.
