Over 50 countries represented at Interpom 2022

From 27 to 29 November, the European potato industry gathered at Interpom 2022 in the Kortrijk Xpo, with the theme 'Towards healthy growth'. "However, we are also seeing more and more growers, processors and traders from other continents," report the organisers. It was a very well-attended event, highlighting opportunities and challenges in the sector. With 323 exhibitors from 15 countries and over 20,000 visitors from 54 countries, the organisers speak of a successful edition.

And busy it was, from machine builders to potato breeders. The industry's need to discuss opportunities in person again was evident from the busy aisles of the event complex. Several exhibitors also speak of a successful edition, which again allowed for discussions with relations and future customers, reported FAM Stumabo and Tomra, among others.

Sunday was, true to tradition, one of the busiest days with over 8,000 visitors, with many once again pouring into the fair building with their families. Monday was also well attended with 7,007 and 4,891 visitors on Tuesday. Almost 32 per cent of visitors came from abroad, with particularly strong attendance from the Netherlands (15.5 per cent) and from France (12.4 per cent). "But also from Egypt to North America, from South Africa to Eastern Europe; professionals with a heart for the potato found their way to this fair."

Organisers are already looking forward to the next edition, indicating they hope to meet everyone again from 24 to 26 November 2024.
