Surinver's Creamy Pumpkin Desserts were awarded the Innovation Hub award at Fruit Attraction

On October 6, Fruit Attraction celebrated its Innovation Hub Awards, which recognized the innovative work of 3 companies.

Surinver was awarded within the Fresh Produce category for its new Creamy Pumpkin Fruit Dessert Range. A jury composed of five prominent personalities awarded the Alicante cooperative the Innovation Hub Awards in the Fresh Produce category during the Fruit Attraction fair.

"This is an important international recognition of our efforts to develop innovative proposals within our Ready to Eat product line," stated Elena Sanchez, Surinver's R&D&I Manager.

According to Elena Sanchez, these Creamy Pumpkin Desserts with Fruits stand out for their nutritional properties. Their base is 100% made out of vegetables and they have no allergens, which makes them suitable for all audiences, including vegans or people with allergies or intolerances. "It is a perfect alternative to other desserts that are made with dairy products or from ingredients, such as soy or nuts."

Surinver has launched at the Fruit Attraction fair this new range that focuses on three references:

  • Pumpkin with Orange, which they describe as a more traditional proposal.
  • Pumpkin with Berries and Orange; a more daring and original combination.
  • Pumpkin with Apple and Lemon. The perfect flavor for those who love acidic flavors.

"Other notable aspects of this new range are that it can be stored at room temperature and that it has a longer shelf life than other desserts (up to 6 months), responding to the need of reducing household food waste," stated Elena Sanchez. "In addition, this range of desserts is an ideal alternative for senior consumers. Not only because they have an interesting nutritional profile, but also because their creamy texture facilitates swallowing them."

"In addition, this range of desserts promotes the circular economy. The main ingredient used to prepare these desserts is the peanut pumpkin, which is grown by the company. Thus, we enhance the use of zero-kilometer products. In addition, we reduce food waste by using pumpkins that, due to their caliber or small visual defects, can't be sold as a fresh product," stated the head of R+D+i.

In short, Surinver describes its new range of desserts as an innovative product line that is linked to a healthy diet and that can meet the new consumer demands without neglecting the care of the environment.
