Imronbek Shakhruza LLC in the Akhangaran district -Tashkent region- grows yellow watermelons from the seeds of the Riamo variety. The latter are purchased in South Korea. The farm was established in 2015 and has 86 hectares of sown area, of which 3.5 are planted with yellow (planted two years in a row) and red watermelons. Grain is grown on 45 hectares, tomatoes on 10 hectares, soybeans on 1 hectare, and corn on the rest of the area.
The yellow watermelon is a hybrid, obtained by foreign scientists-breeders as a result of crossing wild and cultivated watermelons. The first crop was obtained in the Mediterranean and today it is grown all over the world. Outwardly, yellow watermelons have an oval or round shape. The rind is green, smooth or striped. The inner part of the berry is yellow, and its weight averages from 1.5 kg to 4-5 kg.
Yellow watermelon contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, B6, B9, E, C, PP. It is also rich in calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, sodium, phosphorus. It has a positive effect on the immune system, helps in the fight against various infections, viruses. Yellow watermelon is useful for people who are on a diet, as it is low in sugar and calories.
