Lasalgaon Agricultural Produce Market Committee

Average wholesale onion prices up 15%

The average wholesale onion price at the Lasalgaon Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) has increased by 15% — from Rs 825 per 100 kgs on Monday to Rs 960, on Thursday. According to the APMC officials, there has been a rise in demand in comparison to the supply, which has led to a marginal rise in average wholesale onion prices.

Earlier, the daily supply was around 2,000 tons a day, which has dropped to 1,500 tons a day over the past few days. This is also the reason the average wholesale onion price has increased. According to traders, the average wholesale onion price is expected to be in the range of Rs 900 to Rs 1,100 per 100 kgs during the next couple of weeks. The maximum wholesale onion price at Lasalgaon on Thursday was recorded at Rs 2,496 per 100 kgs, while the minimum wholesale onion price was recorded at Rs 551 per 100 kgs.
