The group standard of "World Traceable Quality Products Malaysia Durian" (T/CASME 13-2021) proposed and managed by the China Association of Small and Medium Business Enterprise, has been reviewed by multiple experts from the China Customs Science and Technology Research Center, the China National Institute of Standardization, the Agricultural Quality Standards and Testing Technology Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Development Research Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation. It was released on January 28, 2022, and implemented on February 18, 2022.
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of Malaysian durian, the grades, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and transportation of fresh fruit which is suitable for fresh Malaysian durian, frozen durian in shell and frozen durian pulp.
With the growth of domestic durian demand and the improvement of living standards, the quality of Malaysian durian has been recognized by the public. Malaysian durians have great advantages in color, flesh quality and taste. However, due to its high transportation cost, the price is significantly higher than other durian varieties, leading some unscrupulous importers to confuse the durian origin and variety to obtain high profits.
The implementation of this standard aims to provide technical support for market sales and effectively protect the interests of producers, operators and consumers. And further to promote the healthy development of the durian industry in Malaysia.
