"We are optimistic about the upcoming sales season of New Zealand apples"

"At the moment the market does not seem too positive." That is according to Sharon Huang of Faikee Fruit Limited Ltd. "The cost price is still rather high, but we are looking forward to the upcoming sales season of New Zealand Taylor apples in the second half of March. The supply season will likely last until October."

White nectarines from Australia

"The Taylor apple is the star of the Faikee Fruit Limited. The apple variety is quite well known in New Zealand. We started working together with the New Zealand Taylor apple brand in 2014 and continue to do so today. This is one of the most important strategic partners of our company. The product quality is always stable and the sales conditions are great. We also provide them with suggestions and assistance based on the requirements of different markets."

Queen apples from New Zealand

Faikee Fruit Limited has more than thirty years of experience in the fruit import industry. The company sells a variety of import fruits as well as premium domestic fruits. When asked about developments in fruit production areas, Sharon replied, "sales conditions of South American fruit have been rather good in recent years. For example, the sales conditions of Chilean stone fruits have only improved in recent years. Chilean plums are doing very well. Production conditions are improving, and they have an advantage in the Chinese market in terms of production volume and price. They are worth paying attention to. In addition, several premium domestic fruits are drawing attention in the market. They are more or less the same as import fruits in terms of product quality. Moreover, they can supplement import fruits in the domestic market. For example, the next six months are kind of a quiet season in the import market, when most of the import fruits are the same. At that time, premium domestic fruits can jump in and supplement supply. We have established contact with a variety of premium domestic fruit traders in the last two years. We support the development of premium domestic fruit plantations and sincerely invest in strategic cooperation."

"We discuss market developments with our strategic partners. For example, in the past we advised an Australian nectarine supplier to sell their nectarines in smaller bags. Their sales figures immediately went up. The larger boxes of nectarines were inconvenient for clients. We believe that smaller bags have an advantage in the market," said Sharon. "We have learned from the older generation to pay attention to product quality, market feedback, and market trends. And we share these lessons with our strategic partners."

Chilean cherries

Faikee Fruit Limited sells a variety of fruit including cherries, apples, grapes, Australian stone fruit, blueberries, and citrus fruits. They import from various countries including Australia, New Zealand, Peru, USA, Canada, South Africa, and Spain. They also represent various major brands such as Taylor, San Francisco, San Clemente, and Dow. Moreover, they work together with major domestic fruit brands that supply grapes, blueberries, and citrus fruits from Yunnan and Sichuan.

Faikee Fruit Limited

Faikee Fruit Limited has offices in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. They are primarily active in wholesale markets. And they invest in various fruit varieties based on market trends. "Our main focus is on Guangzhou Wholesale Market. We also sell fruit in the Hong Kong market, for example air freight import cherries from Australia, but that decision depends on supply volume, price, and freshness. We are planning to expand our activities in the Hong Kong market. Domestic demand dropped in the aftermath of Chinese Spring Festival [1 February, 2022], but demand in Hong Kong remained stable. That is why we are pushing some of our products in the Hong Kong market, such as honey peaches from Australia."
