Recently, Yichang Jinzhi Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative exported 20 tons of grapefruit to Kyrgyzstan after passing the quarantine inspection conducted by Yichang Customs affiliated to Wuhan Customs.
Yichang citrus is more competitive in terms of quality and price, and its sales are also increasing overseas. "This year, we have exported more than 700 tons to countries in Central Asia, achieving a 'good start' in export", said Wang Yan'an, Head of the enterprise.
Relying on the unique advantages of natural conditions, Yichang, Hubei Province, is becoming a dominant production area for citrus. Yichang citrus is tender and flavorful and is popular with consumers in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries in Central Asia.
According to statistics, Wuhan Customs have cumulatively supervised an export of 1,954.6 tons of fruits to Central Asia since the beginning of this year. The number increased by 60% year-on-year, adding a strong "Chinese flavor" to the "fruit basket" of more and more consumers in Central Asia.
