On Tuesday, Chapar Police found 7920 bottles of addictive and illegal cough syrups hidden inside different boxes partially filled with mangoes. A team of Chapar Police raided a truck which was heading towards Tripura via Dhubri carrying mangoes, from West Bengal.
The value of the confiscated goods is estimated between Rs 1.5 to 2 mln (€16.500-22.000). Officer Abhijit Gurav, SP, Dhubri mentioned that a case has been registered against the accused person under NDPS Act and further investigation will be done. He also said that the crackdown on drugs and narcotics would continue in the future.
