Average price at origin of Andalusian watermelon reaches highest level in 10 seasons

According to data from the Prices and Markets Observatory of the Government of Andalusia, the average price at origin of watermelons in the 2019/2020 campaign has reached the highest level of the last ten campaigns, with € 0.48 / kg.

This price is 65.52% higher than the one achieved in the previous season, when the fruit was sold at an average price of € 0.29 / kg. It is also 33.33% higher than the average of the last ten campaigns.

Looking into the different types, mini watermelons have been sold at an average price of € 0.49 / kg; 88.46% higher than in the previous season, when it was sold for € 0.26 / kg.

As for striped watermelons, the average price was € 0.45 / kg, 50% more than in the previous season, when it cost € 0.30 / kg.

As for black watermelons, the average price obtained during the 2019/2020 campaign has been € 0.56 / kg, which is 70% more than in the previous campaign, when the average price stood at € 0.33 / kg.
