China's mango sales in May dropped 20% from last year

Compared to lychees or cherry, mango is not an outstanding fruit, but its season happens to fall in the same period. Mango may not be as premium, but its position in the Chinese market cannot be ignored. During the season from early May to the end of July, mango has always had a place in the fruit market and is an indispensable daily fruit.

Looking at China's mango consumption data in May, sales of the entire month fell by about 20% compared with the same period last year, which reflects a decreased domestic consumption capacity. After a month of development into the season, mangoes from Guangxi are also flooding on to the market. What is the market situation now?

According to local growers, there are far fewer purchasers this year than last. The low prices have attracted little interest from purchasers but many e-commerce teams who are purchasing at low prices, and some even offer lower prices.
