China: Squash prices show an upward trend

The Chinese squash trade lately livened up because the temperature is gradually rising and the demand volume is therefore rising as well. The price of Chinese squash subsequently increased as well. The current wholesale price is around 4.2 yuan [0.63 USD] per kg. That is a price increase of 24% in comparison with last week, and 110% in comparison with last month. It is also a price increase of 75% in comparison with the price of 2.4 yuan [0.36 USD] around this time last year. The main supply of Chinese squash currently comes from production areas in Guangdong, Hainan, and Guangxi.
