Fall in lychee production volume now unavoidable in Dongguan, China

The overall blossom rate of lychee trees in Dongguan is not high, which is the result of high temperatures and excessive rainfall in the winter of 2018. The blossom rate of late-season varieties such as Rice Cake lychee and Flavor of Guilin lychee is only around 10%. The Agricultural Department of Dongguan City predicts that the price of lychees will rise as a result of this "small harvest". The price could easily double, and still increase further.
