A ship from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, loaded with 30 refrigerated containers of dragon fruit, arrived on March 3rd, 2019, at the Fanchenggang Port. After a brief period for unloading and loading, 8 refrigerated containers continued their journey on the express railway between Fangchenggang in Guangxi and Chongqing. This is this year's first arrival of Southeast Asian fruit in Fanchenggang Port imported by Chongqing Hongjiu Fruit Co., Ltd.
Chongqing Hongjiu is a leading fruit supply company in China's southwest. The company has subsidiaries in Thailand, Vietnam, and Chile and cooperates with farmers in those countries to develop a long-term supply strategy. Chongqing Hongjiu chairman of the board, Deng Hongjiu, stated that the express railway is cheaper by half compared to overland transport by truck.
