Guyuan City in Xiji County, Ningxia, is known as the "hometown of potatoes". The city welcomed the new potato harvest season this October. The combined surface area devoted to potato plantation in Xiji County reached 54 thousand hectares this year. The industry has developed over the years to become an industrial system focused on potato flour, noodles, and snacks.
