Taiwan jujube export to China launched

The first India jujube crop from Taiwan have recently arrived at Xiamen Port. The Taiwan jujube season runs from November to April following year. By December, the taste of the fruit turns from bitter to sweet.

Thousands of hectares in Taiwan are used to plant India jujube. It is a popular fresh fruit due to its green skin, white fruit, juiciness, good taste and nutritional value.



In the 2014-2015 season, Xiamen Port received 237 shipments of Indian jujube from Taiwan. Total import reached 280 tons, worth an estimated 470,000 USD. Import volume increased by 55% compared to a year earlier.
