Poles eat less potatoes, drink more fruit juice

In the last 15 years, potato consumption decreased by 50 percent and flour consumption by 40 percent, experts say. Bottled-water sales rose three times in the last 15 years, and are expected to rise further, as well as the consumption of fruit juice.

Unfortunately fruit and vegetables are on the decline and will stay that way, the bank specialists say. The changes are mostly an outcome of the society becoming richer, and the growing popularity of dining out.

However, a healthy lifestyle has become fashionable in Poland, and is also contributing to the changes in the food sector.
