Viennese bought less vegetables last year

Last week vegetable growers from Vienna looked at their sales and it appears to have not been the best year. Last year the Viennese bought less vegetables, on top of this, the EU sanctions against Russia have also contributed to the losses seen in this sector, reports the Austrian website wien.orf.at.

The weather has also made it difficult for Viennese vegetable growers. The mild winter at the beginning of the year and the waterlogged month of August have not only negatively impacted the fruit and vegetables in the fields, but also evidently inhibited the consumption of fruit and vegetables by the Viennese population.

Vegetable cooperative LGV Frischgemüse originally expected a revenue of 70 million Euro this year. However, the annual revenue fell to 62.5 million Euro, this is a 4% decrease from last year's revenue. The Viennese are now hoping that next year will bring better weather.
