ANSA warns importers about the necessity to sell fresh produce only after lab results

The National Food Safety Agency has issued a warning to importers of fresh fruits and vegetables, emphasizing the necessity to sell only after obtaining lab results on pesticide residues and nitrate levels. According to ANSA's statement, economic agents must comply with the Order regarding the placement of imported fresh fruits and vegetables in the market.

Batches awaiting lab results will be stored in warehouses of registered importer-economic operators until the results are available.

ANSA urges importers to exercise maximum responsibility and adhere to the declaration of responsibility submitted at the border, committing not to sell produce before obtaining lab results. Following the Food Safety Law, economic agents selling food products before receiving laboratory conclusions are subject to legal liability.
