HBMA recently held a strategic workshop with key partners to set the direction for the next five years. The session, led by Allan Ryan from Hargraves Institute, focused on reinforcing HBMA's role in managing and developing premium brands across Australia.
Since taking on the management of Kanzi® apples, brand awareness has increased by 64%. According to HBMA, this season has been the strongest so far, with sales up 14% compared to last year. Data also shows Kanzi is currently the biggest-selling IP apple in Australia. In addition, the company sold out the first QTee® pear crop this year, with orchard maturation expected to result in volumes tripling next season.
The workshop also confirmed a leadership transition. After six years as Chairman, Rob Cathels has stepped down from the position but will continue as a board member. Adam Buckley has been appointed as the new Chairman. HBMA stated that the board remains focused on collaboration, transparency, and data-driven decision-making to support growers, retailers, and consumers.
