South Africa plans fruit exports to Cambodia

The South African Ambassador to Cambodia, Darkey Ephriam Africa, has announced plans to export agricultural products, including apples, coconuts, sari, and blueberries, to Cambodia. The statement was made during a meeting with Ratcha Saravuth, Secretary of State at the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce.

Ambassador Africa highlighted the importance of boosting trade and economic relations between the two countries. He proposed establishing a memorandum of understanding to facilitate the exchange of goods, naming agricultural exports as a priority.

Saravuth expressed support for the initiative and encouraged exploring private sector collaboration through business meetings and trade fairs. He underlined rice as a key commodity for South Africa and an area where trade could expand.

The Ministry of Commerce also requested that the South African Embassy promote Cambodia's investment opportunities to South African investors and businesses. This aligns with Cambodia's strategy to leverage regional and bilateral free trade agreements to broaden trade relations.

Both governments stated their commitment to further strengthening economic cooperation, particularly in agricultural trade and investment, to expand future market opportunities.
