Following the withdrawal of the Büschl Group:

Redesign of Munich's wholesale market again delayed

On September 4, the Büschl Group formally withdrew from the wholesale market hall project in Sendling. "We have not found an end investor anywhere in the world who is willing to take over and finance the project," Ralf Büschl, chairman of the project developer's advisory board, told local media. Büschl is therefore withdrawing from the tender for the construction project, which is likely to cost several hundred million euros. The problem for the city is that the real estate developer was the only interested party. The reactions from city politicians are correspondingly disappointed.

Without a builder, the city has to start planning from scratch, so to speak. And time is of the essence: operations in the current dilapidated wholesale market hall can continue until 2030 at the latest, and even then only with maintenance expenses running into the millions. Thereafter, the wholesale market will have to find a new home.
